Polished Concrete Standards
“Polished concrete is a process which enhances the natural beauty of existing concrete by hardening and applying a sheen to the concrete. There are two primary methods to create this sheen: Topical or Mechanical.” While both methods will provide a sealed floor, mechanical polished concrete is preferred in most applications due to its extended longevity, low maintenance, sustainability, and stunning esthetic. Just as every slab of marble or granite is unique, each polished concrete floor contains its own characteristics. This stone-like, mottled appearance is very appealing, and adds character to the floor. Topical Polishing
A Topical Polish is a product treatment rolled or sprayed onto the surface of the concrete to seal it. Examples of this are wax coatings and buffed hardeners. If a higher sheen is preferred, many applications require a buffing or burnishing step to create a shine. While the concrete will have a coated, sealed appearance, the concrete will retain its coarse texture, and any inconsistencies in the surface will remain visible.

Topical-Sheen Level 3: High Sheen: 4-Step Resin Polish

Mechanical Polish
A mechanical grinding & polishing process that utilizes industrial diamonds & impregnating hardeners and sealers to level, densify, polish & finally seal the floor from within the interior of the floor surface.
Wet Polish: Extends the life of diamond tooling by using water to cool, however, creates a slurry which much be disposed of.
Dry Polish: A preferred polishing method as it does not create a slurry, and can be performed with no production down time.

Grout Restoration

Restoring Grout has never been simpler with MN Floor Specialists‘s 2-Step grout cleaning and restoration system. Use our Alky-14 degreasing cleaner under our Rotary Grout Brush to strip away grease, oils, and previous floor care treatments. Vacuum, rinse, and vacuum again, and you’re ready to repeat the procedure using our Grout Blast, putting the final touches on bringing back your natural grout. Finish up by sealing your floor with MN Floor Specialists‘s incredible Impregnator Seal to protect your floor from stains and discoloration, keeping it like-new.

Tile and Grout

Add to your Grout restoration with MN Floor Specialists’s 2-Step ceramic tile honing and polishing procedure. Complete your initial Grout restoration, then hit the floor with MN Floor Specialists’s Dazzle 1 tile polish under a Dia-Poly PP Pad and supplemented with our Weighted Pad Drive. This step cleans and hones the ceramic tile, preparing it for polish. Vacuum, rinse, and vacuum again, and repeat the procedure using Dazzle 2 and a Dia-Poly FP Pad to complete the polishing process. Finish up by sealing your floor with MN Floor Specialists’s incredible Impregnator Seal to protect your floor from stains and discoloration, keeping it like-new.

Compared to traditional restoration, MN Floor Specialists’s restoration process drastically reduces labor and product costs by cutting the required steps to hone and polish down to just two. Simply strip existing coatings and hone using MN Floor Specialists’s Scratch Removal Disk II, and polish using MN Floor Specialists’s Wet Polish. Finish up by sealing your floor with Apeiron’s incredible Impregnator Seal Concentrate to protect your floor from stains and discoloration, keeping it like-new.

Traditional Restoration

Prefer a more the more classic traditional restoration of marble? Hone and polish by going through your traditional grits using MN Floor Specialists’s Marble Diamond Disks. Consider applying MN Floor Specialists’s Impregnator Seal Concentrate after traditional polishing to prevent stains and discoloration.

Lippage Removal

MN Floor Specialists has a solution for working with lippage and particularly difficult marble. Our Hybrid Diamond Disks are made to provide additional aggresion in honing to get the floor where it needs to be for polishing.
